• A quality mouthpiece. The outfits include a top level Vandoren mouthpiece.

SE models include a choice of Vandoren mouthpiece.  Buy one of these separately elsewhere and it will cost around an extra £90.   The Vandoren 5RV or B45 mouthpieces are arguably the best start there is and an item that most teachers suggest that you buy at some point.  You will find Hanson instruments fitted with Vandoren mouthpieces easier to play and better sounding.  It’s like running the hundred metres dash with great sports shoes instead of wellies!

• Quality reeds.  We supply all Hanson clarinets with Vandoren reeds.  Individually sealed ensuring the reed is in top condition for playing and hygiene.

• BG Revelation Ligature and cap.  This is the part that holds the reed on to the mouthpiece and protects the reed from damage when not in use.  The kind of ligature effects ease of fitting for the reed and also has an effect on tone quality.

• BG Cleaners.  Quality microfibre cleaners and pad driers included.  A well maintained clarinet will give you years of service and pleasure.

• A stylish carry case.   We call it a 'sport-pack'.  A lightweight hard case that offers excellent protection for your instrument. Special design features also make assembly of the clarinet easier.

  • A hard rubber material used in woodwind instruments and prized for it's excellent tonal qualities.  The same material as used in making professional mouthpieces.

• Grenadilla
  • Selected seasoned African blackwood.  The traditional choice for quality woodwind instruments.

• Rosewood
  •  Chosen for it's beautiful colour and soft tone.

• Reinforced Grenadilla
  • All the tonal benefits but guaranteed for life against cracking. Our specially processed African blackwood is reinforced giving a body material that makes this clarinet impervious to damage from climatic change or lack of maintenance and cleaning of the bore.
